I like Matt Lauer's tendency to be aggressive in his interviewing. I get so darn tired of people fawning over their interview subjects - especially celebrities - and really appreciate those few interviewers who don't get caught up in all that crap.
Of course, I've probably watched the Today show twice in my life, so I may be wrong about Lauer. I know he was a little chippy with Tom Cruise as well, and I'm always in favor of that.
Kevlar I love you. In a big way. I am in no way upset with you. But please be careful not to mistake “aggressive” for “late morning TV pansy”.
Question - Can there be a superhero for the status quo? Before a person can be aggressive they have to have some strength first. Matt Lauer was so weak in that moment that it was embarrassing. He did try. I’ll give him that. He does makes me feel good sometimes and I admit to that too.
Kevin Trudeau, a man with a distortedly exposed past, is donating to research the proceeds of this rather helpful collection of natural remedies. A vomit spewing system cannot shut him up for one second because they can’t un-ring the bell that they rung on themselves when they sued him. And Matt Lauer, sweet Matty from next door, can’t get a word in edgewise. I say buy the f_ing book on this alone. This is real I tell you.
When the world tears a little like this - can we have enough of a pulse to look up it’s skirt for one second? Or at least admit that we want to know a bigger truth about ourselves. This is a good thing people. Lets see the beauty in this.
Didn’t we all feel genuinely awful about Teo’s healthcare insurance hell. Helloooo?
Oh no wait . . . shh Don’t upset the lull. The nice lull.
I'll watch the vid later tonight (I'm swamped wit chit at the moment), but I have the instinct that I will unfortunately have to come back to Tres Hombres and call Kevlar ridiculous for calling Matt Lauer aggressive, and then I may have to call Vinnissimmo positively loop(e)y for digging on what I can only assume is the Kevin Trudeau clip. I'm not sue what Vin's eating for breakfast (oh wait, I might know that) but there might be some magic sprinkles on it. Natural ones, of course.
Update: insurance got worked out. Took 6 months, but everything's okay.
Um...*blush*...I didn't actually watch the Trudeau clip. I just saw that it was the Today show and have appreciated Lauer's tendency (again, one that I've probably seen all of twice in my life) to not fawn after celebrities. If he was something other than useful in the Trudeau interview, my bad.
And please don't think I'm equating him with Mike Wallace. What I meant to suggest is that as celebrity interviewers go, he does a good job of not being a lap dog. But again, I have pretty limited experience in watching the guy, so my bad if I'm completely off.
Kev, your Matt Lauer comments are freakin' hysterical, but that's fine.
Vin, I just can't get on board with this guy.
- Donald Trump comment is useless and simply a tactic to divert. - FTA is not keeping my sister diabetic just because they want to make money. Sure they want drug companies to make money, but I'm confident saying this guy does not know how to cure diabetes. - Guy spends a lot of time blabbering about his legal minutia and then he launches into "nobody is talking about this and they just want to make money."
I have no doubt that drug companies are greedy and ethically quesitonable.
But they are not keeping diabetes and cancer cures from the public.
This guy is either paranoid, narcissistic, a huckster, or all three. What he isn't, is a savior of millions.

I still loves me some Vinnissimo, though!
