Mean Stuff Still Sucks
I know everyone talks about the commercials. That's all fine and good, and I'm no snob for entertainment. My view here is also not all that original, as I remember thinking this for the last few years and reading and hearing other people's reactions that have been similar. And so my point is this: most of the commercials are mean and sadistic, and they make me sad and uncomfortable as often as they make me laugh. Maybe more often.

DNA you are totally right about the term. Fining pleasure in other people's suffering. That's exactly what it is.
The commercials are violent...lots of people getting hit in the head, people sucker punching other people...there was even a commercial with some sort of a touch football game with a guy absolutely annihilating a woman in a series of several violent tackles. Nothing like some solid aggression against women to make you laugh.

My older son asked me how old the men were, and I told him that they were his grandfather's age. He insisted that men that old weren't allowed to play electric guitars.
i saw this mindfuck of a movie "cache." then i went to get sober. i missed the whole thing. but then again, when i really used to watch it hardcore, i used to take the monday after off as a vacation day. cause i was going to call in sick probably, so why not just do it proper?
