Velvet Creme and TCBY

make me think of Teo and Vinissimo.

Neither is still there. Velvet Creme is gonzo - replaced by I'm not sure what. (Haven't been around the town in a few years.) TCBY went away with the razing of Bakery Center.

Sad, innit?

What made me think of these things? This.

I can be as nostalgic, however, the NEW Sunset Place (where the Bakery Center used to be) is one of my new favorite places to hang out.

Velvet Creme. Now that’s some happy nostalgia.

HOWEVER, I have an idea for a new kind of donut shop. Actually a donut/pie shop. The donuts wold be more like pies in both size and contents. Much bigger. Cream toppings and fillings would be all real whipped cream -nothing added. Custardy fillings will be much lumpier and homemade. A jelly ball shall be a full on round ball o tasty goodness. Chocolate toppings will not be icing but real oozing chocolate.

The cool thing about old friends like you Teo and Kevlar is that you know I am completely serious and will fuck with me accordingly therein further perfecting the donut pie concept.

Actually, I gotta say that the donut pie idea is gold. I'm your first customer, no joke.

Thanks Kevlar. I aspire to transition at some point from the dreamer of ideas to the founder of SOMETHING - someday. I think I'd enjoy founding. If I could only make that leap. I guess I have to DO SOMETHING at some point. Maybe a person with a donut pie idea may not seem like a likely founder candidate but I've heard of crazier things.

sizes

A donut pie could be the size of a regular secular donut.

a dough pie could be 6" - 8" I need to do some testing

mind you these would all be pretty dense with all of the fresh high quality ingredents

i am also thinking of both dough types -- cake and fried yeast

Reason I think Vinissimo is one of the highly underrated geniuses of the modern age:

"A regular secular donut"

Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant.

Vinnissimo is a brand unto himself. Only HE has the capacity to create a secular pie donut that is MIDI compatible and hooked up to a light switch near the top of his acoustically perfect dormloft and he can make it SOUND good, too.
