Better Every Day

As has been documented in earlier posts, Trader Joe's is much loved by a few of the hombres. It is my great joy to share with you all that a new Trader Joe's just opened about a mile from my house. Prior to this, the closest one was about 15 miles away. There is much rejoicing in our home today. Plus, there are a few containers of Cat's Cookies, several bags of Pirate's Booty, and a couple of bottles of Two Buck Chuck.

I live in an area that is - or at least was until very, very recently - one of the fastest growing communities in America. With the addition of Trader Joe's, life just got better here. All we need now is the very great In-N-Out Burger.

Teo: Do you need me to pick up some peanut butter for you?

Costumery

I am looking for Halloween costumes with the eldest little Pinata. He may go as some sort of Star Wars character; I shall go as Greg Allman circa 1975.

Sandwich

I'm eating a fluffernutter sandwich. You could die from not surprise.

It's Jiff which as Teo describes it as "frosting". Apparently it's not frostingly enough. The heavenly fluff-o-licious layers are oozing together with the nutty flavored "frosting" layers between to very thick diagonaly hand cut slices of french bread. Imagine a large french bread sandwich and you don't think fluffernutter - I know this. But it's so wrong that it's like working overtime for me right now.

And So, Here I Am

Down goes Teo! Down goes Teo!

Downstate, that is.

As of yesterday, I live here. I go up the steps on the side to the top floor, behind the "stained glass"...er...plastic. It is approximately 15,000 degrees in there. It was a manageable 14,000 for most of the day, but now it's 5:30, and, well, notsomuch.

I bit the bullet and ordered cable. One local channel from 40 miles southwest of here will not cut it.

My apartment lacks a true shower, but there's a special hose and squeegee in the bathtub that will allow me to make myself presentable to the outside world.

I am 38. I live in a furnished attic apartment just of the U of I campus. I'm gonna start a fraternity. I might go streaking. I bought a beer bong today. I have a poster of Paulina Poritzkova to hang on my wall. I will live out of boxes and hang towels on nails. I will leave the door open. Yes, that door.

Long live 1987 on campus.

Movies

I rented a movie today that makes me think of my very good friend Vinnissimo. And that made me think of how much two particular movies remind me of my two hombres:

She's Having a Baby = reminds me of Vinnissimo
Tapeheads = reminds me of Teo

That's all I have to post right now. Just know that I can't watch either of those movies without thinking of you guys.

To Vin: "The Big Yard King 410's got a plastic flywheel!"

To Teo: "Swanky Modes!!!" (or "Let's get into trouble, baby!")
