Vin, you are the absolute best. That made my night.

I don't know where to start. That was so great that I feel I need to collect my thoughts. I can't. Just too good. Random responses:

1. What says, "Trust me, I've done the math and I know all the facts and figures" more convincingly than a dramatically lit tennis court?

2. If you can't get Ted Koppel, definitely try to get a willowy girl in a sun dress. Same effect.

3. In response to the rhetorically posed question (along the lines of), "why haven't we been able to get more than 400 miles away from Earth since 1970-something", I think one possible answer may be "we haven't tried". Not sure.

4. I have a deep and abiding love for conspiracy theories and their proponents. I'm not a particualar believer in such theories; in fact, I'm something of a skeptic when it comes to UFOs, CIA "black ops", 9/11 complicity on the part of the government, and so forth. Still, I love to listen to Art Bell - for about fifteen minutes at a time or so - and I dig that whole nutty world. I don't believe any of it, but I get a kick out of it.

Vin, I think you have a soft spot in your heart for the same sort of thing. Maybe it's living in the southwest that does it to a person. You get out in the desert at night and you start to get an almost electric thrill by pretending that the next mile over is Area 51.

BTW, if anyone would like to submit a long post about how the Freemasons rule the world, aliens really did land in Roswell back in the 1950's, and/or you've figured out the whole JFK second gunman thing, please fire away. It will only make me love you more.

Quirky aside: I actually wrote a piece in grad school called "Conspiracy" that used a variety of audio samples from news dispatches regarding Roswell, some Lee Harvey Oswald soundbites ("I'm just a patsy!"), and - if I recall properly - some audio of Courtney Love that some guy was promoting as proof positive that she had Kurt Cobain murdered. I think it's probably one of my strongest pieces.

Dang. I miss the X Files. ;-)

Fun, funny stuff, Vin man. I'm still not buying anything Kevin Trudeau sells, though.... (smiley emoticon here!)

Just so you know, I have not purchased any Kevin Trudeau items. I have not read any of his books. Simply put, when I see him on TV I find myself rooting for him with joy and a smile. By no special powers I do predict, and only a by poetic hopefulness, that his efforts may yield a fruit that we may all enjoy and really laugh about. A cure? A bill? A change? I don't know or care. But something actually useful and kind of funny.

The moon movie on the other hand . . . I have seen, and you all must see it. It’s just cool. We didn’t go. Again, more joyful laughter.
