One of the many things I love about this video is the third kid in the background quietly working on his own project. The two kids up front are going after it, giving it their all, and the kid in the background just isn't phased one single bit.
totally. that was my first comment. that kid is just totally ignoring them. not even a flinch. i thought, okay. perhaps the twist is that he turns around at the end and delivers the final line. but no. he's just stone cold.
other highlights:
the kid on our left has a broken arm. that just seemed ironic or strange/out of context.
the fact that at two separate points, they both end up doing moves which consitute headbanging to the BSB. one does it with such verocity that he loses his headband.
why are they all (including the studying kid) all up in the jersey/sportswear? that also makes this so incongruous -- the jocks busting it to the BSB.
I know, I love the kid sitting in the back. I wish you guys could see this dvd I mentioned on my blog or that I could even describe it adequately - it's a random, unknown (to me anyway) band - with entirely new sound laid in by the filmmaker - a few drumbeats here and there, a few guitar tracks, and for the singing - you know how singers draw out certain vowels, particularly oos and aahs - well, Thom replaced the musical notes with a male voice spookily/breathily going ooooo... aaaaaah... it loses something in the translation, I know, but the laughs are equal to this clip. I need to tell him to get it out there somehow.

So does this mean that the Back-street Boys have genuinely made a comebake?
I meant comeback, I think
Somehow, comebake works really well.

indeed!
Kind of touching, as if this type of performance occurs Far too often for the studying kid to even care anymore.
