A Funny Hat

I will participate in my school's graduation on Sunday to pick up my Master's degree. It's a little strange, since I'm continuing and will we toiling in school for another two or three years. But whatever. I'm walking. Why not.

So I picked up my cap and gown the other day. Here's the thing. It's the most ridiculous looking hat you could ever wear. It's a record album (remember those?) on the top of a skull cap. The skull cap is way tight. Which makes the hair near my ears stick out like bozo (remember him?). Which means I will be having a funny looking head during the 2-hour ceremony, which will be immediately followed by a funny looking head after the ceremony.

This is a no-win situation for my head.

Teo,
A total conflict of interests
The whole hat head combined with the capturing of an indelible moment
As a man of the quaff I feel your pain
I’d say go short – Get a hair cut if possible
Bring a tube of gel
Now that wont go well the all of the hand shaking
So bring some wet naps and some tic tacs &or gum
You’ll be looking good and feeling fresh

If you think it’s going to be really bad and you don’t care about the pictures and the conversation, forget the gel, make it nicotine gum, and a flask.

"A no-win situation for my head." An apt description for graduate school.

Teo, dear. A heart-felt congrats are in order, you deserve to gloat a bit for your hard work you've done whatever follows. But still, It called mortarboard, silly! Yes it resembles a bit too closely the mason's tool of the same name. you will also wear 'the bayse" that garland you drap over your neck to signify that you are a "master" in your field. be comforted that academians in other countries go a step further by wearing the get-up for all formal functions for the next full degree they take part in or even forever, all meetings of all fellows have everyone dressed in full academic garb whatever the function might be.

I hope someone take a picture.

Indeed, I had the hoodie and the cap and I gradiated, and I'm a Master. Whodathunkit. Standby for a more complete post.

Pictures were taken. Steaks were eaten.
